What does Jombo mean?
Jombo stands for Job Outreach Management with Bonderless Orthogonals.
Now you are probably thinking: "Hold on a second, that sounds like nonsese". Well, that is because it is nonsense. Here is the true story:
We wanted to come up with a name related to "job" which represented something big, so we thought about "Job Jumbo". That sounds awful, we admit. So we just put the words on top of each other and came up with Jombo. "Job" gave up a letter and "Jumbo" give up two, but at the end they were both happy because the participation in the final word made it all fair.
Why did you guys create Jombo?
The stress of finding a new job is something almost universal. While there are some people who actually enjoy looking for jobs, the vast majority of us dread it. Some of us at Jombo have been directly affected by this and some of us have loved ones who have been affected. The source of anxiety can take multiple forms: insecurity, pressure paralysis and negative previous experiences are good examples.
The reality is though, that most of us will be staring job searching in the eye at some point in our career. Be it because of a layoff, career stagnation or just to get out of a bad relationship with our current employer or co-worker, and just a few of us can afford a career coach.
We thought there must be something we can do to help people keep their mental health during this process and that is how Jombo was born.
Can I sign up right away?

What role AI plays in Jombo?
A big one. For example, we use AI to help the search process and to provide content for CVs and introduction letters. We also use AI to understand our data better and train our model.
I am not currently looking for a job. Should I still join?
Definitely. With Jombo you can be prepared to your job search before it becomes a reality or a necessity. By keeping your profile up-to-date you will be ahead of the curve should you need a new job. Also, if you work in projects for instance, it is a lot easier to create that CV entry while the experience is recent than trying to reconstruct it later.
Jombo will also keep you informed of the movements in the job market. You never know when that perfect position will became available and you certainly do not want to miss it.
Are there duplicate positions on your database?
We delete all duplicates we find, but the truth is not that simple. We gather the information we use directly from the websites publishing the positions. In most cases, these sites do not reveal who the actual company offering the position is. Worse than that, the same company may have multiple similar positions open simultaneously. On the other hand, companies usually pay a fee for having the job openings listed so there is no real incentive to create duplicate postings. So the actual answers is: it is possible that some job entries are duplicates, but this should not be a significant number.
